Who can use this site?

Anyone who is smart enough to know a good deal when it jumps out in front of them naked. There is one really teeny weeny thing - you must be a registered student to use Qbsta. You know… at varsity, uni, studying, learning how to take over the world. Because while you are equipping yourself with the skills to become the next CEO of Apple, you need to have fun.

How much does it cost?

Qbsta is free to join and free to use, and it will always remain free!

What you really should be asking is what does it save? Okay, we get your scepticism. It’s not often in life that you get things for free (flu and irritating family members aside). It’s because of this that we reckon you students could do with some slack. Living off two minute noodles just to get your party on every weekend isn’t easy. Enter Qbsta, the free mobile phone voucher system that buys you all kinds of awesomeness. The only cost? Whatever your service provider charges you for normal online access. And that’s it.

How do you say Qbsta?

Don’t worry, you are not being thick, you are just being honest. Honesty is a rare commodity in today’s society. If there were more people like you, there wouldn’t be a need for the popo. Anyway, this is how you say it – “cube-stuh.” Get it? Knew you would. Now go forth and spread the word.

What phones will Qbsta work on?

Any phone that can access the internet. If you are struggling with your default browser, you can try accessing it from Opera Mini.

How do I claim a saved deal?

Once you have clicked "Save to Wallet" the deal will be saved in your wallet. You then find the saved deal you want to use under “My Wallet” and click “Spend.” Do NOT select spend prior to your order, or you will lose your voucher. When you are paying for your item in-store, show the digital voucher (which is on your phone) to the cashier.

What are zones?

Zones are the fancy name we use for suburbs. We use zones to prevent you from seeing deals from far far away (places which are too far away from you to be useful).

Kick butt?

If it’s a big deal to you, then it’s a big deal to us – so thanks for sharing your gripes. Sometimes new staff members of our partners haven’t seen a Qbsta user before, and they stare at you with a vacant expression (think Jersey Shore) when you show them your phone. Please avoid the urge to slap them when this happens. We’ll sort it out but you need tell us because, although we rock, we are not psychic. Click on “Kick Butt” to tell us about the problem and we will speak to the owner of that shop to ensure you don’t have the same problem in the future. And world peace will reign.

What are Gift Deals?

Gift Deals are like finding money in your pocket that you didn’t know you had. Gift deals are gifts from your favourite brands to say, “Thanks for shopping with us!” You cannot find Gift Deals, but if a brand wants to give you a Gift Deal, we will SMS you to let you know you have a gift waiting in “Deals in my wallet.”

Data usage policy

You can chill - we will never, EVER EVER sell, lease or expose your data to anyone. We do however want to stay relevant. What’s the use of a free t-bone steak when you’re a hippie vegetarian, right? Qbsta gets that, which is why we collect data about you over time to ensure that the deals you see are the ones you want. Different people sometimes see different deals – Qbsta uses data to ensure that the deals YOU see are relevant to YOU! Your data remains completely secure – in fact we have our own servers in a data centre to ensure this remains the case at all times.

Facebook connect (Sign Up with Facebook)?

If you sign up on the site using the Facebook option, when you view deals or events within Qbsta, you can see which of your friends have also taken up that deal, or will be at that event. It also allows you to share deals with friends if you find a deal you know your best mate would want. Remember the saying, “Sharing is caring?”
